Mary + Grady | Dystopian State Brewery | Destination Wedding

A month ago I traveled to Tacoma, Washington to photograph my cousin Mary and her fiance Grady’s wedding.  I was beyond happy for her when I heard of her engagement to Grady.  The two had been a couple for a little over a year before they got engaged and it really came as no surprise.  Mary is the kindest, sweetest, genuine and loving person I have ever known. I am blessed to have her as a cousin and even more blessed to have been a part of her and Grady’s special day.

Mary and Grady’s ceremony took place at the beautiful Kilworth Memorial Chapel on the University of Puget Sound Campus.  The couple shared a sweet moment between the two of them, by sharing love letters that they wrote to each other.  Afterward, was their first look. When Grady saw Mary for the first time, his face shone with love and I don’t think he ever stopped smiling. Mary was one stunning bride! It was such a lovely moment shared with each other.

Their ceremony was attended with loved ones both from home, and those who traveled out of state, to join in the two of them becoming husband and wife. It was a lovely ceremony showing the love between them and their love of God.

The reception was held at the Dystopian State Brewery and was filled with a laid back relaxed atmosphere.  The bride and groom shared an upbeat dance where the groom twirled his bride around. I love when the couple love to dance.  The most special moment for me was when the bride had her first dance with her father.  The love, tears, and smiles shared between father and daughter had me in tears. It was truly a special moment.  Speeches were shared by friends and family. There were talks of hilarious and embarrassing moments from each one’s childhood. But, the one thing that stuck out the most to me was how each one talked about how loving, thoughtful, kind, genuine, and compassionate each one was. So, for them to find each other is truly special. These two belong together and I am so very happy not only for my cousin, Mary but also for Grady!  These two are soulmates and wish them forever happiness!
